A sold-out concert was given in the Hall of Mirrors of the Temples of Humankind for guests and Damanhurians. Traditional Damanhurian music was played by Gufo (voice, guitar, flute and percussion), Cigno (keyboard), and Albatros (guitar and cello), while Ara offered many graceful Sacred Dance performances in the center of the hall. Both music and dance profoundly moved the audience. This experimental concert was the first of a new opportunity that intends to convey the spirituality of Damanhur though the arts and traditional music.
The musicians presented 12 pieces during the hour-long concert, which they had prepared for intensely over four months. The songs included “Soffio,” inspired by the nature spirit named Soffio, protagonist of the Myth of the Sapphire Masks, and “Ci si può innamorare di una voce,” about how the meaning of words enters into the deepest part of ourselves through channels of emotion, listening to a language that we don’t know, though that fascinates us anyhow – appropriate for the mostly international audience listening to the Italian songs.
